The Minister of Energy and Green Transition, John Abdulai Jinapor, has inaugurated the newly reconstituted Board of the Energy Commission on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama.

Hon. Jinapor underscored the Commission’s key role as Ghana advances private sector participation in electricity distribution, scales up renewable energy, promotes gas as a transition fuel, and strengthens competitive procurement and standardized power agreements. The agenda also emphasized driving the country’s green transition and attracting investment for resilient energy infrastructure.

As part of efforts to assess and support the performance of agencies , the Minister of Energy and Green Transition today conducted working visits to the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) and the Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo).

At TOR, the Minister toured ongoing upgrading works, gaining firsthand insight into the facility’s operations. He reaffirmed TOR’s strategic importance to Ghana’s energy security and industrial development while expressing concern over persistent leadership instability, which has hindered progress over the years.
