On the sidelines of the 8th Session of the International Solar Alliance (ISA) Assembly in New Delhi, Minister for Energy and Green Transition, Hon. John Abdulai Jinapor, held a bilateral meeting with Mr. Ashish Khanna, Director-General of ISA.

The Minister of Energy and Green Transition. Hon. John Jinapor, has held a meeting with the leadership of the Ghana Electrical Contractors Association (GECA) to discuss challenges confronting the electrical contracting industry and explore collaborative solutions.

The Minister for Energy and Green Transition has commended BOSTEnergies, formerly Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Ltd. (BOST), for its renewed strategic direction and dynamism.

He praised the company’s rebranding as a sign of its commitment to Ghana’s fuel security and welcomed the creation of a Renewable Energy Department, aligning with the President’s vision for a cleaner energy future.

The newly constituted Board of Directors for the Northern Electricity Distribution Company (NEDCo) has been officially inaugurated, with a call for decisive action to address long-standing operational challenges facing the utility.

During the inauguration, emphasis was placed on the critical role NEDCo plays in the national energy supply chain. The board was tasked with focusing on three key priorities: improving revenue mobilization, enhancing customer education, and ensuring consistent power supply across all operational zones.

In a continued effort to ensure a stable and reliable electricity supply across the country, the Minister of Energy and Green Transition convened with key stakeholders to discuss forward-looking strategies.

The discussions centered on comprehensive initiatives spanning generation, transmission, and distribution, with a clear focus on actionable measures that will guide the sector through to 2030.

The Minister for Energy, John Peter-Amewu on Thursday commended GOIL for being the first indigenous Oil Marketing Company to construct a Bitumen Plant for storage of raw bitumen for road construction in the country.

The Energy Minister has commissioned electricity expansion to 13 new communities in the Central Gonja District of the Savanna Region, advancing the government’s goal of universal electricity access.

“Ghana currently has about 90% electricity access, and we are determined to reach 100%. No community should be left in the dark,” he said.

Minister for Energy and Green Transition has called on his counterparts across the continent to elevate natural gas as the primary fuel source for Africa’s industrialisation and domestic energy needs. 
Speaking during at the African Energy Week, the Minister highlighted Ghana’s progress and urged policymakers to adopt similar forward-looking approaches.
